Lycos Europe: Google und Fireball machen Probleme
Geschäft läuft schlechter als erwartet
Das EBITDA im ersten Halbjahr lag bei -7,6 Millionen Euro, verglichen mit einem EBITDA von -0,1 Millionen Euro im Vergleichszeitraum des vergangenen Jahres. Das EBIT lag im ersten Halbjahr 2007 bei -29,8 Millionen Euro.
Während die Umsatzerlöse mit 41,2 Millionen Euro stabil blieben, erhöhte sich die Kostenbasis. Grund dafür waren laut Lycos Europe hauptsächlich zusätzliche Marketinginitiativen, höhere Ausgaben für kürzlich erfolgte Produkteinführungen sowie Sondereffekte.
Zwar verbucht Lycos Europe durch den Verkauf seines Anteils an Seznam.cz einen Veräußerungsgewinn von 64,8 Millionen Euro, doch dem steht ein nicht unerheblicher Wertminderungsaufwand gegenüber. Vor allem Einbußen des von Pangora verzeichneten Google-abhängigem Traffic sowie “rückläufigen Trends bei der Nutzung von Fireball” führt Lycos an und verbuchte einen Wertminderungsaufwand in Höhe von 19,2 Millionen Euro.
